Teens Arrested for Attempting to Shoot Drugs Over Prison Wall
Two teenagers, aged 18 and 19, from Colorado were arrested for attempting to smuggle drugs into a prison using an air cannon. The suspects, José Francisco Herrera Muñoz and Angel Gonzales Gutierrez, tried to shoot the contraband over the wall of the prison in Grant Parish, Louisiana, with a cannon capable of shooting objects up to 107 meters. Sheriff Steven McCain stated that vigilant law enforcement prevented the drugs from entering the prison.
Both individuals are facing charges of attempting to smuggle contraband into a correctional facility and attempting to distribute methamphetamine. Sheriff McCain emphasized the potentially devastating impact of a large quantity of methamphetamine within a prison environment. Additionally, Muñoz, the 18-year-old, was detained by immigration authorities for allegedly residing illegally in the United States.
