Many German airports are facing technical difficulties, causing inconvenience for travelers. According to the regional broadcaster WDR, airports in Cologne, Düsseldorf, and Dortmund are affected by long queues as incoming passengers are unable to pass through the gates.
Düsseldorf Airport informed WDR that the issue primarily affects flights arriving from outside the Schengen area. Travelers are reported to be waiting for up to two hours to go through security checks. The duration of the problem's resolution remains uncertain.
A police spokesperson at Frankfurt Airport told Bild that many operations are currently being performed manually to manage the situation, assuring that they have the issue under control.
