The winds are expected to push the existing fires further to the south and west.
Thousands of firefighters are battling at least four extensive wildfires in and around Los Angeles. The largest fire, dubbed the Palisades Fire, has scorched over 9,300 hectares according to ABC News. At least sixteen people have perished in the fires, with more than 12,000 buildings already destroyed or damaged by the flames.
