Serbian Prime Minister Resigns
Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic has resigned amidst ongoing protests in the country. The resignation comes after a tragic incident in Novi Sad on November 1, 2024, where 15 people lost their lives due to a collapse at the main entrance of the train station. This incident sparked widespread protests across the country, with demonstrators in Belgrade blocking one of the busiest intersections yesterday evening.
In a press conference announcing his resignation, Vucevic stated that he aims to lower the tensions in the country by stepping down. He emphasized the government's need to take utmost responsibility and called for calm and dialogue in society. Novi Sad Mayor Milan Djuric is also expected to resign today.
