Approximately 240 winter sports enthusiasts found themselves stuck on a chairlift in the French Alps. They were successfully evacuated with the help of a helicopter, and fortunately, no injuries were sustained, as reported by BFMTV news channel.
The chairlift in Superdévoluy came to a halt early afternoon due to a technical malfunction. Thanks to favorable weather conditions, all passengers were rescued within a few hours. Those at the lower section of the lift were able to descend using ropes, while the helicopter airlifted the skiers who were stranded higher up.
The mayor mentioned that such evacuations are rare occurrences, stating, "This is exceptional for us."
