Pizzeria Customers Ordering Pizza Number 40 Also Receive Cocaine: 'One of the Best Selling Pizzas'
dusseldorf - A 36-year-old man running a pizzeria in Düsseldorf, Germany, has been arrested for selling cocaine along with pizza number 40 to customers.
In the German city of Düsseldorf, a 36-year-old man has been apprehended for operating a pizzeria where customers ordering pizza number 40 from the menu not only received a pizza but also cocaine. The police stated that this particular pizza was one of the best selling items.
The pizzeria is located in the center of Düsseldorf. When the police arrived at the 36-year-old owner's residence to arrest him, he hastily threw a bag of drugs out of the window, which landed directly in the arms of the officers, according to a spokesperson. Authorities seized 1.6 kilograms of cocaine, 400 grams of cannabis, and 268,000 euros in cash.
Further investigations uncovered additional drug operations, leading to the identification of fifteen suspects. Around 150 officers conducted raids last week in North Rhine-Westphalia, including Düsseldorf. Cannabis plantations were dismantled in Mönchengladbach and Solingen, where weapons, money, and luxury watches were also discovered.
The newspaper Bild pointed out that the concept of selling drugs with pizzas seems to have been inspired by a 2001 movie. In the German comedy 'Lammbock,' two friends working as pizza delivery men decide to also sell cannabis. The film is set in Bavarian Würzburg.
