Peskov: Rosatom to Continue Its International Activities
moscow - Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that the Russian State Nuclear Energy Corporation Rosatom will continue its international activities.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov announced that the Russian State Nuclear Energy Corporation Rosatom will continue its international activities. Peskov responded to journalists' questions on current issues in the Russian capital, Moscow.
Criticizing the US sanctions on the Russian energy sector, Peskov said, 'It has been repeatedly proven that energy supply routes cannot be cut off in today's world.'
Peskov explained that Russia is working to minimize the impact of the sanctions by finding alternative options if one supply route is disrupted. He stated, 'Of course, such decisions also lead to a certain degree of destabilization in international energy markets.'
Highlighting Rosatom's leading position in the international nuclear energy sector, Peskov emphasized, 'We assume that Rosatom will continue its international activities.'
Regarding a potential meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President-elect Donald Trump, Peskov mentioned, 'Many countries have offered to host a possible meeting. However, it's still too early to discuss. There is no significant preparation underway at the moment. It is just an expressed understanding and political will that such a meeting is necessary and appropriate.'
