norway - Norwegian fishermen caught 200 kilograms of halibut and a 7,800-ton American nuclear submarine in their nets off the coast of Norway, according to reports.

A group of Norwegian fishermen had an unexpected catch on Monday when they reeled in 200 kilograms of halibut and a 7,800-ton American nuclear submarine. The USS Virginia, belonging to the US Navy, got entangled in their nets near the Norwegian island of Sommarøy. The fishermen, led by Harald Engen, were on a routine expedition when they made the unusual discovery.

After a successful morning haul, the fishermen decided to cast their nets again for a second load. However, they were surprised to find the massive submarine caught in their nets on their way back to the fish farm. The coast guard was summoned to assist in freeing the submarine from the entanglement.

While the fishermen now have an exciting story to share, they are dismayed by the damage caused to their nets. The morning catch alone was worth around 1,700 euros, and they had hoped for a similar haul in the afternoon.

The USS Virginia, equipped with advanced sonar and stealth technology, is part of a fleet that conducts operations in the Arctic region. The submarine had recently departed from the Norwegian city of Tromsø before getting ensnared in the fishing nets.
