seoul - North Korean balloons have distributed pamphlets with propaganda over the South Korean capital Seoul for the first time, criticizing President Yoon Suk-yeol's government.
North Korea has sent propaganda leaflets across the border to South Korea via balloons, criticizing President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife for being immoral and mentally unstable. Yoon's government is blamed for the problems facing the South Korean people. Balloons carrying waste also landed around the presidential palace.
North Korea has been sending balloons to its southern neighbor for months, but this is the first time they contained propaganda. Pyongyang claimed that the earlier waste balloons were retaliation for the spread of anti-North Korean propaganda within the dictatorship, allegedly carried out by activists in South Korea, but North Korea believes the Seoul government is behind it.
