pyongyang - The North Korean army announced that it will completely close all roads and railways connected to South Korea starting Wednesday. The country also plans to strengthen border regions within its own territory, according to the North Korean news agency KCNA.
The North Korean army stated that this decision is in response to military exercises by South Korea and regular visits from ally the United States.
This year, North Korea has been installing landmines and barriers at the border for months, as reported by the South Korean army in July.
