Prime Minister Jelyazkov stated before the parliamentary vote that the government's priorities will be high-quality education and healthcare services. He also emphasized that the rule of law, sustainable financing, a balanced budget, and joining the Eurozone are among the government's other important tasks. Jelyazkov expressed, "Bulgaria needs a new government that will protect the social rights of its citizens because the country is in a political crisis, a crisis of confidence. Citizens and businesses need support due to serious difficulties and risks".
In the early elections held in October, the center-right party GERB won in Bulgaria, a Balkan country that went to the polls for the 7th time in the last 4 years due to the political crisis and failures to form a government.
