washington - At least 43 people have been reported dead in various American states as a result of Helene. The storm caused significant damage before weakening.
At least 24 people died in South Carolina, 17 in Georgia, 11 in Florida, 10 in North Carolina, and 1 in Virginia, according to the latest reports from US authorities and media.
Helene moved northward after hitting Florida and gradually weakened. However, the severe storm left a path of rare devastation. The US National Weather Service stated that the weather conditions are expected to continue to improve today following the catastrophic flooding of the past two days.
