Millionaire Faces Criticism for Requesting 'Private Firefighters' to Save His Villa in LA
los angeles - An American millionaire and CEO is facing backlash after asking for help from 'private firefighters' to save his house in Los Angeles.
An American millionaire and CEO, Keith Wasserman, co-founder of real estate investment company Gelt Venture Partners, is receiving criticism for requesting 'private firefighters' to save his house in Los Angeles, during the ongoing wildfires. While residents are trying to flee the area and save their lives, Wasserman wrote that he would pay 'any amount' to private firefighters to protect his home. 'Does anyone have access to private firefighters to protect our house in Pacific Palisades?' he asked.
His request sparked immediate outrage as one user commented, 'Incredible audacity... His family has been evacuated and he is trying to hire private firefighters to risk their lives to save a house that he already has insured.'
The wildfires in the state of California have already engulfed an area of 112 square kilometers, marking the most devastating wildfires in the history of Los Angeles. So far, five deaths and dozens of injuries have been reported.
