Many Expensive Oasis Tickets Declared Invalid and Back on the Market
england - Ticketmaster invalidates numerous overpriced Oasis tickets, making them available for purchase again. Find out when and where you can buy them.
Ticketmaster has declared numerous overpriced Oasis tickets invalid, allowing them to be resold to the public. Since the ticket sales began in August, many owners have been trying to sell their tickets online for exorbitant prices, reaching thousands of euros. However, these ticket holders have failed to read the terms and conditions carefully, as it explicitly states that such resales are prohibited. This accounts for approximately 4% of the total ticket inventory.
The only authorized methods for reselling tickets are through Ticketmaster or Twickets. Oasis will kick off their tour on July 4 next year in Cardiff, followed by sixteen more shows across England. Subsequently, they will head to Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Australia. This marks their first tour since 2009.
Furthermore, Ticketmaster has faced criticism for employing 'dynamic' pricing, where ticket prices surged from 148 to 355 pounds per ticket based on demand. Given the immense interest, the company generated tens of millions in additional revenue at the expense of fans. In response, England is endeavoring to enact new legislation to prohibit this practice.
As of now, it remains uncertain when the invalidated tickets will be reissued online, let alone the revised pricing set by Ticketmaster, as reported by Sky News. Nonetheless, this situation presents a win-win scenario for both the company and the band, as they stand to profit for a second time from ticket sales.
