Liverpool Women's Manager Matt Beard Sacked Amid WSL Struggles
Liverpool FC announced the immediate departure of women's first team manager Matt Beard due to the team's struggles in the Women's Super League (WSL).
Beard, who initially joined LFC Women in 2012 and led the team to back-to-back WSL titles in 2013 and 2014, returned to the club in May 2021. After a successful fourth-place finish in the previous season, Liverpool has faced challenges and currently sits seventh in the WSL standings after 14 games.
The club expressed gratitude for Beard's contributions and announced the appointment of Amber Whiteley as the Interim LFC Women's Manager while the search for a permanent manager is ongoing.
