Historic Moment for Liechtenstein
Liechtenstein, a conservative small state, is set to have its first female head of government. Since the office of head of government was established in the principality in 1921, it has always been occupied by a man. Haas will be sworn in on March 20.
Liechtenstein, located between Switzerland and Austria, is the smallest German-speaking state with an area of 160 square kilometers. The country has approximately 40,000 inhabitants, with about a third being foreigners, mainly Swiss, Austrians, and Germans.
