new delhi - Indian authorities are searching for a couple who disappeared after scamming hundreds of victims by promising to turn back time with a fake time machine.

Indian police are desperately trying to locate a couple that vanished after a bizarre scam. The duo, Rajiv Kumar Dubey and his wife Rashmi, tricked hundreds of people by claiming they could reverse their age using a supposed time machine.

The couple, who own a treatment center in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, convinced gullible citizens that they were aging rapidly due to polluted air and could be made younger again through an innovative 'time machine' along with oxygen therapy.

They offered packages for 6,000 rupees (about $72) for ten sessions and 90,000 rupees (over $1,000) for a three-year bonus program, but failed to deliver on their promises, leaving victims feeling cheated.

The scam evolved into a pyramid scheme, with customers being told they could get their money back by bringing in new clients for expensive oxygen therapy sessions. Many victims, like Renu Singh, are now regretting falling for the fraud, with one individual reportedly losing $21,000 and aging prematurely due to the stress.
