The woman was set on fire while sleeping in the subway on Sunday, December 22. The incident occurred at a metro station in Brooklyn, New York. She died on the spot due to her injuries. The victim's identity was confirmed through fingerprint analysis, according to a spokesperson from the New York City Medical Examiner's office.
The suspect is a 33-year-old Guatemalan man who was quickly arrested following the incident. He allegedly watched from a bench as the woman burned alive, presumably after igniting the fire with a lighter.
