herselt - Belgian couple's wish for fourth child turns into identical triplet surprise with same DNA. Read about their unique story.
Identical Triplet Surprise
Evelien and Dries from Herselt welcomed identical triplet girls with the same DNA, Elenore, Emilia, and Enora. The rare genetic phenomenon amazed the parents.
Surprise Pregnancy
On October 31 last year, Evelien gave birth to the girls via a cesarean section at UZ Leuven after 34 weeks of pregnancy. The couple, already parents to three children, were shocked to discover they were having triplets, let alone identical ones.
Genetic Miracle
Identical triplets are extremely rare, with only a fraction being genetically identical. The girls, Elenore, Emilia, and Enora, amazed doctors with their identical DNA, stemming from one fertilized egg splitting into three.
Unique Bond
The identical triplets share a special bond, doing everything together. From sneezing and crying to waking up and holding hands, they are inseparable, prompting their parents to distinguish them with individual bracelets.
Family Life
Living in Herselt, the family is expanding their home to accommodate the unexpected additions. Despite the challenges of raising triplets, the couple finds joy in their calm and content babies.
Organizational Efforts
Raising triplets requires triple the care and resources, from diapers and bottles to clothing. With Dries being self-employed and Evelien staying at home, they manage the demands of their unique family.
Cherished Blessing
Despite initial concerns and negative comments, the couple treasures their identical triplet girls as a blessing, bringing them closer together as a family. They consider their family complete with six children and have no plans for more.
