Hundreds of British Officers Fired for Misconduct in a Year
london - Nearly six hundred officers have been dismissed for misconduct in the UK in the past year, according to the College of Policing.
In the span of a year, almost six hundred officers in England and Wales were dismissed for misconduct, as reported by the British police knowledge institute College of Policing on Monday. Most of the dismissals were due to officers acting without integrity (125), while other reasons included sexual misconduct (74) or employees being guilty of discrimination (71). The College of Policing described the numbers as 'enormously disappointing'. In the period between March 2022 and March 2023, the total number of dismissals was significantly lower at 394.
In recent years, the police in London has been repeatedly brought into disrepute due to officers committing serious crimes, including cases of rape and murder.
