Intense snowfall in the UK has transformed the streets into a white blanket as flights are suspended due to adverse weather conditions. The Meteorological Office reported a snow depth of 12 centimeters in Bingley in the north of the country. Second-degree warnings have been issued for parts of the UK's central region, northwestern areas, and most of Wales due to heavy snowfall.
Airports in Leeds Bradford, Manchester, and Liverpool John Lennon in the northwest of the country have closed their runways to flight operations. Birmingham Airport also halted operations for several hours overnight to clear the snow-covered runway. Bristol Airport officials announced that flights have resumed after the runway was cleared but warned of delays in operations.
Forecasts suggest that snow depth could reach up to 30 centimeters in high-altitude areas of Wales and the north of England.
