Harris: Trump is 'Obsessed with Revenge' and Seeking 'Unbridled Power'
washington - Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris delivers a campaign speech in Washington D.C. criticizing former President Donald Trump for his actions and policies.
Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris held a campaign rally in Washington D.C., presenting her speech as a closing argument to the voters at a symbolic location. Addressing the crowd, Harris referred to the same spot where rival candidate Donald Trump spoke to a crowd before the Capitol riot in 2021.
In her speech, Harris described Trump as someone who 'sent an armed mob' to the Capitol in 2021. She also labeled him as 'unstable', 'obsessed with revenge', and seeking 'uncontrolled power'.
The current Vice President emphasized the importance of unity and repeatedly expressed her willingness to collaborate with everyone, highlighting Trump's role in fostering 'chaos' and 'divisiveness'. Harris stressed the need to work together rather than blaming each other. She stated, 'I do not believe that those who disagree with me are the enemy.' Harris also emphasized that her presidency would be 'different' from that of current Democratic President Joe Biden.
Her speech drew tens of thousands of attendees, with her campaign estimating the turnout to be over 75,000 people, though these numbers are yet to be verified. Meanwhile, Trump delivered his closing argument at Madison Square Garden in New York, an arena with a capacity of about 20,000 people.
Trump's campaign team responded to Harris's speech with a statement, characterizing her 'closing argument' as defined by 'anger, bitterness, and division', according to Trump. The Republican presidential candidate himself held a rally in Pennsylvania on Tuesday evening.
