- Hamas reacts to President Trump's recent warning regarding hostages, urging Israel to comply with ceasefire agreement for hostages' release.
Hamas Response to Trump's Ultimatum
Hamas spokesperson, Hazem Kassem, addressed President Trump's threatening statements regarding the release of Israeli hostages. Kassem emphasized the importance of Israel adhering to the ceasefire agreement for the release of remaining hostages.
Kassem stated that Trump's remarks would complicate the issues related to the ceasefire agreement and called on Trump to pressure Israel to accept the second stage of the agreement as stipulated.
Regarding Trump's threats, Kassem highlighted that they actually supported Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's efforts to avoid a new ceasefire agreement. He emphasized that the best way to secure the release of the remaining Israeli hostages is for Israel to move to the second stage of the ceasefire agreement and be compelled to adhere to the agreement signed with mediators' involvement.
Trump's Ultimatum
Following a meeting at the White House, President Trump addressed Hamas through his Truth Social media platform, delivering a stark ultimatum. Trump demanded the immediate release of all hostages and the prompt return of the bodies of deceased individuals. He warned of dire consequences if his demands were not met, stating that not a single Hamas member would be safe if the hostages were not released.
Trump's ultimatum concluded with a strong message, urging Hamas to leave Gaza while they still have the chance. He reiterated that failure to release the hostages would lead to severe repercussions, emphasizing the critical decision Hamas faces.
