Hamas is claimed to have approved the list of 34 Israeli hostages demanded by Israel in the context of a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, as negotiations between Israel and Hamas continue. A video of 19-year-old Israeli hostage Liri Albag has been released, in which Albag appeals to the Israeli government to reach an agreement. Albag has been held captive by Hamas since October 7, 2023, after being abducted from a military base where she was performing mandatory military service. Following the release of the video, Albag's parents expressed their heartbreak and urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to make decisions as if their own child was there.
Meanwhile, in Germany, Interior Minister Nancy Faeser announced that the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (Bamf) will review and cancel protection for individuals in Germany who no longer require it due to the stabilization of the situation in Syria. Faeser emphasized the importance of supporting those who wish to return to Syria voluntarily, while highlighting the significance of allowing well-integrated individuals who have established a life in Germany to stay. However, Faeser stressed the importance of assisting those who wish to return to Germany.
