Greek PM's Efforts to Prevent Sale of Meteor Missiles to Turkey
Greek Prime Minister Kiriakos Miçotakis' attempts to persuade France to block the sale of Meteor missiles to Turkey were unsuccessful during his meeting with President Macron in Paris.
According to Greek media, Macron acknowledged Greece's concerns regarding the sale of Meteor missiles to Turkey, but emphasized that France did not lead the sales initiative as the missile system is a product of the multinational missile developer and manufacturer, MBDA consortium.
Reports indicate that discussions regarding the sale of these missiles to Turkey are ongoing, and no agreement has been reached yet. In the event that the sale cannot be prevented, the Greek government aims for the missiles provided to Turkey to be less advanced than those in Greece's arsenal.
Macron has not yet provided a statement on the matter.
