Greece's New Arms Program
Greece, allocating 15 billion Euros to arms procurement in the past five years, now prepares for a 28 billion Euro program for 2025-2037. The program includes purchasing 20-40 F-35 fighter jets from the US, modernizing 82 F-16 Block 52 and 38 BF-16 Block-50 fighter jets, buying 4 Belharra frigates from France, modernizing 4 Meko frigates from Germany, increasing the number of Island class patrol vessels from 4 to 6, and acquiring a missile defense system similar to Israel's 'Iron Dome'.
