French President Emmanuel Macron visited the restored Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris, where he was welcomed by dignitaries. Around 1300 out of the 2000 people who contributed to the restoration project were present to hear the president's speech of gratitude.
Since the day of the fire, Macron has emphasized the importance of restoring the cathedral, referring to it as 'our French destiny.' Originally planned to be completed for the Olympic Games last summer, the restoration work faced delays. The grand reopening for the public is scheduled for next weekend.
