Four Climbers and Hikers Die in Italian Alps over the Weekend
milan - Four climbers and hikers have tragically lost their lives in separate incidents in the Italian Alps over the weekend, according to the Italian public broadcaster RAI.
Four climbers and hikers, three men and one woman, have lost their lives in tragic accidents after falling from mountain peaks in Veneto, Trentino, and Piemonte.
Two climbers lost their lives in two separate accidents that occurred within an hour of each other. In the first case, a group of people heard screams and the sound of falling rocks. Following a search, a lifeless body was discovered in a chimney, one hundred meters below the peak. In the second case, a climber witnessed their climbing partner fall into a crevasse, a fall which proved fatal.
The third victim was a 26-year-old hiker who lost their footing and fell approximately thirty meters into a riverbed. Another hiker, a 52-year-old man, tragically died after falling around 400 meters. He was discovered after a challenging search in a hard-to-reach location.
