Former US President Bill Clinton Hospitalized with Fever
washington - Former US President Bill Clinton has been hospitalized with a fever. Despite previous health issues, he remains positive and is expected to recover soon.
Former US President Bill Clinton, 78, was admitted to the hospital on Monday with a fever. His spokesperson, Angel Urena, stated that Clinton is in good spirits and grateful for the care he is receiving. He is said to be 'awake and alert' and his condition is expected to improve rapidly. However, this is not the first time Clinton has faced health problems.
Clinton, who served as President from 1993 to 2001, underwent a quadruple bypass surgery in 2004 at the age of 58 after being hospitalized with chest pain and diagnosed with severe heart failure. In 2010, he underwent surgery for a blocked artery and had a stent inserted.
The recent hospitalization prompted Clinton to tackle his weight issues and become a staunch vegan. During a 2017 interview with the David Rubenstein show, he mentioned that his lifestyle choices have contributed to his longevity compared to past generations of Clintons.
Clinton was at his home in Washington when he was taken to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in his hometown. He is expected to stay at least one night in the hospital. His previous hospitalization was in 2021 when he spent six days in a California hospital.
During that admission, Clinton was reportedly suffering from a urological infection that had spread through his bloodstream. Despite rumors of septic shock, it was never confirmed. Clinton was said to have been in intensive care at that time.
Despite his health challenges, Clinton remained active in the past year, participating in the presidential campaign and supporting Kamala Harris.
It has been 23 years since Bill Clinton, born on August 19, 1946, concluded his second term as President of the United States. He met his wife, Hillary, during his studies and they got married in 1975. Five years later, they welcomed their daughter, Chelsea.
The Lewinsky scandal in 1995 also marked Clinton's presidency. The then 49-year-old president was involved in a sexual relationship with Monica Lewinsky, who initially worked as an intern and later as a staffer at the White House. Despite initially denying the allegations of an affair, Clinton later admitted to the relationship.
Monica Lewinsky had confided in her colleague Linda Tripp about the affair with Clinton. Although it was confirmed that Clinton had lied under oath about the affair, it did not lead to his impeachment.
