san francisco - Suchir Balaji, a former researcher at OpenAI who exposed misconduct at the artificial intelligence company, has been found dead in his apartment in San Francisco.

Suchir Balaji, a 26-year-old former researcher at OpenAI who recently spoke out against the company's practices, was found dead in his apartment. In October, Balaji accused OpenAI of violating US copyright laws in the development of the popular Chatbot ChatGPT, stating that applications like ChatGPT "damage the internet."

In August, Balaji left OpenAI to pursue other projects. A spokesperson for OpenAI expressed devastation at the tragic news, offering condolences to Balaji's loved ones during this difficult time.

Several US and Canadian news publishers, including the New York Times, have filed lawsuits against OpenAI, alleging that their articles are being used illegally to train software for applications like ChatGPT. OpenAI denies these claims, stating that they comply with all international copyright regulations and that their practices are fair to creators and promote innovation.
