Tarragona, a city on the Spanish east coast, is now facing floods as a result of heavy rainfall. La Sexta Noticias aired footage showing streets submerged in water. Residents mentioned receiving requests from authorities to evacuate to higher grounds.
The most severely affected area is the southern city of Valencia and its surrounding areas. King Felipe and Queen Letizia visited the region on Sunday, accompanied by Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
The extreme weather has resulted in at least 213 casualties, with a number of people still missing. The exact number of missing individuals remains unclear.
