ostend, belgium - A live fin whale has been spotted for the first time in Belgian waters, according to the Institute of Natural Sciences.
Rare Sighting of Live Fin Whale in Belgian Waters
The Institute of Natural Sciences has reported the unprecedented sighting of a live fin whale in Belgian waters. Live fin whales are rarely seen in the southern North Sea, making this sighting a remarkable occurrence. While dead fin whales have washed ashore on the Belgian coast in the past, this live sighting is considered extremely exceptional. Fin whales can grow to more than 20 meters in length, making them the second largest whale species and the second largest animal on Earth.
