Pressure on Senior FBI Officials to Resign
A group of senior officials at the FBI in the US have allegedly been told to resign by a certain deadline or face termination, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The Washington Post reported that several top-level FBI officials were asked to submit their resignations by Monday, February 3, or they would be fired.
Among those reportedly asked to resign are deputy executive directors, managers overseeing criminal and national security investigations, and senior agents at FBI field offices nationwide.
Concerns Over Political Interference
Many of these officials, who were appointed during the tenure of former FBI Director Christopher Wray, have not yet reached retirement age. Therefore, if they are forcibly removed from their positions, they could lose benefits such as retirement rights, social security, and compensation.
