las vegas, new orleans, usa - FBI investigation sheds light on the Tesla explosion in front of Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. The attacker, Matthew Livelsberger, left a letter behind, calling it a wake-up call for the US.
FBI's recent investigation into the explosion in front of Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas revealed new details about the incident. According to FBI, the attacker, Matthew Livelsberger, who used a Tesla Cybertruck for the attack, left a letter behind with the message of a wake-up call for the US.
In the letter, which was found by authorities, Livelsberger, a decorated Special Forces Master Sergeant, stated that the act was not a terrorist attack but a need to clear his mind after the pain of losing people close to him.
Furthermore, the letter expressed Livelsberger's support for US President Donald Trump and allies Elon Musk and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
FBI special agent Spencer Evans commented on the attack, saying, “It appears to be a case of a person suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder resembling a suicide incident.” Evans also mentioned that they uncovered information about Livelsberger encountering post-traumatic stress disorder and potential personal issues.
Despite some similarities, authorities stated that there is no evidence linking the Las Vegas incident to a vehicular attack in New Orleans. Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill noted that Livelsberger committed suicide by shooting himself in the head before the explosion. However, the US Department of Defense officials refrained from commenting on Livelsberger's mental health.
Prior to the attack, it was revealed that Livelsberger had arguments with his wife and later exchanged messages with his ex-girlfriend Alicia Arritt, whom he separated from in 2021. In one message, Livelsberger expressed his excitement by renting a Tesla and mentioned feeling like Batman.
FBI issued a warning to law enforcement nationwide following a similar incident in New Orleans on January 1st where a vehicular attack resulted in casualties. The FBI bulletin emphasized the need for vigilance regarding suspicious car rentals near sensitive locations and the refusal to answer questions about rental motives.
It was also announced that US President Joe Biden intends to visit New Orleans following the attack that claimed the lives of 14 individuals and injured 35. The perpetrator, identified as 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar, was a former US soldier from Texas who was killed in a confrontation with the police at the scene.
