snow canyon state park, usa - A father and son's miraculous survival story in the cold mountains with the help of a backpack left by a boy.
Miraculous Survival in Snow Canyon State Park
While deviating from the path in Snow Canyon State Park to seek shelter, a backpack found near the bushes saved the lives of 33-year-old Julian Hernandez and his 12-year-old son. The backpack contained a rescue blanket, water, snacks, and even a small tent, providing them with the essentials for survival.
Rescue workers found the father and son much later, when it was already bitterly cold. They were spotted from a helicopter using a thermal camera.
The rescue operation was initiated by the boy's mother, who raised the alarm when she lost contact with them after a few hours. It was revealed later that the father and son had taken a few wrong turns and strayed far from the original path.
The backpack had been left in the area a month earlier by another hiker. Hernandez expressed gratitude, stating, 'Without that bag, we might not have survived.' Fox13news tracked down the owner of the backpack, 15-year-old Levi Dittmann, who lives in the area and had previously been lost. That's why he had prepared and left a special backpack for fellow hikers in need. 'This was exactly the intention,' he gleefully shared with the news channel.
The father and son are eager to express their gratitude to Levi soon.
