Following the special EU Summit in Brussels today on Ukraine and European security, top EU officials will inform and consult with Turkey and other countries.
High-Level Briefing
EU leaders will determine their stance on Ukraine and European defense, aiming to move to a new phase. Tomorrow, EU Council President Antonio Costa, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas will provide a high-level briefing to Turkey, UK, Iceland, and Norway.
The trio will conduct the briefing via video conference, not only informing about the decisions taken at the summit but also seeking opinions from Turkey and other countries about the outcomes and potential future steps.
Focus on European Security
The summit will address the challenges of the current European security architecture and the need for adaptation to new circumstances, emphasizing the importance of defense and sovereignty.
EU leaders will reiterate their commitment to providing regular and predictable financial support to Ukraine, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also invited to the summit.
