sri lanka - Countrywide power outage in Sri Lanka due to monkey interference leads to billing controversy.

Power Outage in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka experienced countrywide power outages yesterday, impacting daily life. The Energy Minister stated that a monkey caused a system failure by entering a transformer station.

Following the resolution of the issue, priority was given to health facilities and water treatment plants for the 22 million population island country to gradually restore electricity.

Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody's comments attributing the outage to a monkey entering the transformer station raised eyebrows. Social media users criticized the situation, calling for a reevaluation of the infrastructure.
