Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa Wins Re-election
The National Electoral Council of Ecuador announced Daniel Noboa as the winner of the country's presidential elections.
With nearly 93% of the votes counted, Noboa leads with almost 56% of the votes compared to 44% for González, a difference of over a million votes.
In a stark contrast to the first round in February, Noboa finished with a significant lead over his leftist rival.
González has refused to accept the results, alleging election fraud and vowing to demand a recount.
