Discovery of 166 Million-Year-Old Dinosaur Footprints in England
england - A recent discovery in England reveals dinosaur footprints estimated to be 166 million years old, shedding light on the behavior and environments of these prehistoric creatures.
In England, a set of dinosaur footprints dating back an estimated 166 million years has been unearthed, providing valuable insights into the behaviors and surroundings of these ancient creatures. The joint research effort by Oxford and Birmingham Universities in the Oxfordshire region of the country has revealed around 200 dinosaur footprints.
The tracks were determined to belong to the time period of 166 million years ago. Researchers pointed out that these footprints showcase the movements of a long-necked sauropod called Cetiosaurus and a smaller carnivorous dinosaur known as Megalosaurus.
Kirsty Edgari, a micropaleontologist at the University of Birmingham, stated, "This is one of the most impressive trackways I have ever seen, both in terms of scale and the size of the prints. You can imagine going back in time to a period when these colossal creatures roamed and went about their business."
