'Dentist poisoned own wife with protein shake, wanted to have investigator working on the case killed'
aurora - A dentist in Aurora, Colombia, is facing multiple charges after allegedly poisoning his wife with cyanide and attempting to arrange the murder of an investigator involved in the case.
According to NBC News, based on a police report, James Craig may face an additional charge alongside the 23-year prison sentence that looms over him. His wife ended up in the hospital with severe headaches and dizziness after consuming a drink laced with cyanide and tetrahydrozoline, a drug found in eye drops. She was 46 years old. Her husband, who denies everything, is being prosecuted for the incident and has been in custody for some time.
While in prison, the Aurora dentist allegedly recruited a cellmate to have an investigator working on the case killed, as reported by the American news channel. Craig's lawyer has since withdrawn from the case.
Digital search history revealed that James Craig searched for information on how autopsies are conducted and whether certain substances can be detected. It was also discovered that he had ordered potassium cyanide weeks before his wife's death. He had the bottle delivered to his dental practice and allegedly used it later for the poisonous protein shake. A colleague at the practice raised the alarm upon learning of Angela's hospitalization, linking it to the purchase of potassium cyanide, deeming it suspicious.
