Coca-Cola Recalls Beverages in Europe
Coca-Cola has recalled several beverages in some European countries due to high levels of chlorate. The Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain in Belgium announced the recall of various products produced by Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Belgium.
Products with production codes between 328 GE and 338 GE, including beverages in cans and glass bottles under the Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Fuse Tea, Nalu, Minute Maid, Tropico, and Royal Bliss brands, are being recalled.
Consumers are advised not to consume these products and can return them to the sales points. The recalled Coca-Cola products have been produced at a facility in Gent, Belgium, since November.
The products have also been distributed to the Netherlands, the UK, Germany, France, and Luxembourg. Chlorate is a byproduct of using chlorine-based disinfectants in water treatment and food processing.
