london - Three climate activists from the Just Stop Oil movement have thrown soup on two Sunflowers paintings by Vincent van Gogh at the National Gallery in London shortly after two other group members were convicted for the same act in 2022.

Climate activists threw tomato soup over the artworks. One painting is owned by the National Gallery, while the other is on loan from the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Just Stop Oil shared footage of the incident on X, showing the activists throwing soup and shouting about people being imprisoned for demanding an end to oil and gas extraction. Three individuals were arrested, and the paintings remained undamaged, according to the museum.
