den haag - The three minor children of Ali G., convicted for his role in the extortion case involving fruit company De Groot in Hedel, want an expansion of their father's visiting possibilities in the Extra Secure Institution (EBI) in Vught.

The children, aged 6, 10, and 12, are going through a very difficult time according to their mother. She expressed in court that it is emotionally burdensome for her to be present herself.

The government lawyer responded that they miss school "forty-five minutes twice a month." He stated that there is no real devil's dilemma. When asked about possibilities outside regular visiting hours, the lawyer mentioned that it had been discussed, but there are multiple detainees in the EBI, all of whom probably want something outside the strict regime.

Ali G. was sentenced two years ago to a prison term of nineteen years and ten months in the Hedel extortion case. He allegedly incited several men to cause explosions at the homes of employees of the fruit company in Hedel. As he continued this behavior from De Schie prison in Rotterdam, he was transferred to Vught. The appeal trial is still ongoing.

The court will provide its ruling on November 7.
