Capitol Rioter Pardoned by Trump Shot Dead by Police
Matthew Huttle, a Capitol rioter pardoned by Donald Trump, was fatally shot by police in South Carolina. Huttle, who stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021, resisted arrest and was carrying a firearm.
According to the Jasper County police, a confrontation ensued between Huttle and the officer during a traffic stop, leading to the fatal shooting. Huttle, who was sentenced to six months in prison in November 2023 for his involvement in the Capitol riot, had his probation terminated by Trump's pardon last week.
Trump granted clemency to approximately 1500 Capitol rioters, including Huttle, who protested against Joe Biden's election victory.
