Britons Angry After Increased Beer Prices in Pubs: 'Unacceptable!'
great britain - British pubgoers are complaining en masse about the 'unacceptable' price hikes of a pint in the pub.
One of the largest chains, with over three thousand locations, recently implemented a price increase of approximately 2 euros per pint. For a typical British pint, about half a liter, Greene King's loyal visitors are now paying 8 pounds, equivalent to just over 9 euros. The increase is reported to be around thirty percent.
The chain is facing angry customers, as reported by the British newspaper Express. The chain with thousands of locations throughout Great Britain is hearing from pubgoers that the hike is unacceptable and intolerable. Prices have also been raised in football stadiums, sparking equal fury among football fans.
According to the chain, a price hike is unavoidable due to higher prices of ingredients and raw materials such as barley, hops, and yeast. Serving costs have also increased.
In the Netherlands, beer prices are slightly lower, but prices in pubs have also risen in recent years. In an average pub, you would pay around 6 euros for a half-liter of beer.
