united kingdom - The British police have confiscated £2 million (€2.4 million) from controversial American influencers Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, accused of large-scale tax evasion in the United Kingdom.

The British police have confiscated £2 million (€2.4 million) from controversial American influencers Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, who are accused of evading taxes on £21 million in internet income between 2014 and 2022. The confiscated money comes from a number of frozen British bank accounts belonging to the duo.

Tate boasted about his tax evasion in one of his videos, stating, "When I lived in England, I refused to pay taxes." The video was cited by the prosecutor, referring to the brothers as "serial tax and VAT evaders."

The brothers are currently detained in Romania where they have been living for several years. They, along with two women, are facing charges of human trafficking, rape, and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women. It is yet to be determined when the trial will begin.
