Armed supporters of former Bolivian president Evo Morales have taken twenty soldiers hostage, after seizing a barracks in central Bolivia where they confiscated weapons and ammunition, military sources reported.
The situation in Bolivia remains tense as Morales' supporters have been blocking roads for two weeks in protest against legal actions taken against Morales, believed to be orchestrated by Morales' political rival Luis Arce's government.
Morales reported on Sunday that his car was shot at in Cochabamba, a city in the central part of the country, resulting in injuries to his driver.
