Bloody Revenge in Train near Paris: Violence Erupts Between Rivaling Youths
paris - Bloody brawl breaks out in a train near Paris as a revenge act between rivaling youngsters from neighboring villages.
An eyewitness of the bloody fight in the idle RER E train near Paris declared that it was a retaliation act between rivaling youths from two nearby villages.
The outbreak of violence was triggered by an incident that took place ten days prior. A teenager from Ozoir-la-Ferrière was reportedly beaten up by a group of youngsters from the neighboring Roissy-en-Brie. This incident sparked the retaliation act that took place this morning, intentionally scheduled on the first day of school after the fall break.
The fight began around eight o'clock when the RER E train had just halted at the Ozoir-la-Ferrière station in the Seine-et-Marne department. A scuffle broke out in the last wagon involving dozens of people, mostly minors. Four teenagers suffered bite wounds, two of which were severe but not life-threatening.
The altercation occurred while the train was stationary at the platform. Immediately alerted, SNCF informed the train route users through X that the traffic in both directions was severely disrupted due to the 'quarrel on board a train at Ozoir station'.
According to a witness, the incident resembled an ambush, as reported by Le Parisien. 'The train stopped at Ozoir station. It was 7:52 am. When the signal to close the doors sounded, I saw a few boys running to the end of the train,' said the witness. 'They wore hoods, or at least their faces were concealed by scarves and hats. They were all dressed in black,' continued the train passenger.
According to the witness, the assailants targeted high school students from Roissy, who usually commute to their high school Clément-Ader in Tournan-en-Brie by the RER E train. The attackers knew that the students typically sit at the back of the train. That's where the attack with the axe took place. 'They knew that the students from Roissy always board at the back and therefore concealed themselves at that point,' stated the witness to Le Parisien. 'Suddenly, I saw the boys running in the other direction to escape,' he added.
'There were around thirty people. The youths from Roissy started running after them and then returned to check on their injured friends. One of them was covered in blood, likely the one who received the blow to his head with the axe,' explained the witness. 'The train driver told us that he would investigate why the alarm had gone off. When he saw the injured, he asked if anyone could provide first aid.'
The municipal police quickly arrived at the scene. The fire department and national police arrived approximately thirty minutes later. 'They tended to the victim covered in blood. There was blood on the floor and blood on the stairs,' the witness also stated that 'shortly after, a helicopter flew over Roissy-en-Brie, presumably for evacuating an injured person.'
For him, there is no doubt that it was a revenge act. The war between Ozoir and Roissy is far from over, according to the witness. 'I heard the friends of the injured shouting: Par Allah on va se vengera (by Allah we will take revenge). We will kill you!'
Midday, the police prefects of the concerned department issued a statement on the tragic event. 'The police prefect in charge of transportation safety in the entire Île-de-France region, along with the Seine-et-Marne prefect, announced that the number of police patrols on the RER E line has been increased after this morning's unacceptable violent acts,' stated the police prefect.
Additionally, he mentioned: 'Maximum attention is devoted to the safety of individuals and goods on trains, in stations, and their surroundings. The increased security measures will continue as long as necessary.'
Valérie Pécresse, president of the Île-de-France regional council, called for government intervention. 'The plague of gang fights is spreading across the country. I urge the Ministers of the Interior and Justice to coordinate their efforts to put an end to this cycle of impunity and violence. I have asked SNCF to provide their surveillance camera footage to help identify the perpetrators.'
