belgium - Belgium will ban the sale of disposable electronic cigarettes from January 1st due to their negative effects on health and the environment, becoming the first EU country to take this step.

Belgium will prohibit the sale of disposable electronic cigarettes from January 1st onward, aiming to address the health risks and environmental impact associated with these products. Health Minister Frank Vandenbroucke highlighted that cheap electronic cigarettes serve as an easy way to attract young people to smoking and nicotine addiction, posing a threat to health.

Vandenbroucke also pointed out the environmental harm caused by the plastic and batteries in disposable e-cigarettes, generating hazardous chemical waste. He emphasized that the presence of nicotine in electronic cigarettes can lead to addiction and adverse health effects. Belgium's decision to ban the sale of disposable electronic cigarettes, also known as "vape," sets the country as the first among EU member states to take such a measure.
