Belgian police are actively searching for a suspect who is believed to have taken the train from Breda to Belgium following a violent incident involving a sidewalk tile throwing. The man travelled through several other stations in Belgium, including Antwerp Central and Mechelen, with Brussels-South as his final destination. It is unknown where the suspect got off the train.
The Belgian police have described the man as potentially dangerous. They advise people not to approach him if seen, but to contact the authorities. Recognizable images of the man have been released in the search bulletin. Earlier, Dutch police had shared images of the suspect connected to the tile throwing incident.
The 37-year-old victim, Benjamin, sustained serious injuries from the tile and is currently in a coma in the hospital. The attack occurred while he was sleeping near the Maritime Museum in Rotterdam. Benjamin's sister initiated a crowdfunding campaign for him titled 'Benjamin never on the street again'. She hopes to raise enough funds for her brother to receive the best care possible once he wakes up, ensuring he never has to sleep on the streets again. Nearly ten thousand euros have been donated within a day.
